Did American Idol profile a certain image when choosing the top 24 this year?

When American idol sent packing the final guy, they said he didn't do anything wrong, but based on the fitness of the top 24, maybe they didn't want to say your too heavy to be on this years show. If you look, this is Simon's last season and this is his last year to sign talent from the show so they could have molded the top 24 so no matter who the top 5 become, they will be skinny and in shape beside the very one muscular male contestant and he is the most physical fit of them all. If you look at the top 24, this is the most consistent look ever for the contestants and it seems to me a rational person would come to that conclusion. Did American idol weed out this cl of singers and make the top 24 look more like America's next top model rather than placing the 24 best signers. Did they use the litmus test, Image is everything? If you look at the history of the show, groups in the past were more diverse, this year, its like looking at a Gap advertisement. Or is this just how the talent pool turned out this year and its just coincidence? Let me know what you think.
