Owl appears along side then in front of vehicle while in motion, then stares at you.?

I was driving at night when a White Owl appeared along side of my truck when it turned and looked at me before moving out of my sight. The owl then reappeared in front of my truck flying in the direction i was driving when it turned his head completely around to look at me while flying forward; the owl did this for a while before flying out of my sight. 21/2 years later, in a different country where Owls are not spoken of, i spotted a Brown Owl sitting on a sign as i was driving that evening, when it flew in front of my vehicle and coasted in the direction i was traveling for a bit. This time the owl didn't look at me like the first one did, it just simply flew away. Very unusual! I have never seen owls in my entire life until these two occasions.
