Modern warfare 2 and hughes net?

My family is thinking about getting hughes net. Will that allow me to play modern warfare 2 online (on the ps3)? we have super slow dial-up now and are not able to get broadband in our area. If i cant play mw2 online with hughes net, is there any other possable way to play it out in the country? ( michigan 48760) Im not worried about lag or anything, i just want to know if i can play it at all. Thank you
